RM 8562* carbon dioxide was prepared by R. M. Verkouteren, Surface and Microanalysis Science Division, Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) [1,2]. It was first prepared in 1995 from carbon dioxide provided by T. B. Coplen, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This gas originated from natural thermal decomposition of a Jurassic limestone deposit in the South-eastern United States and was sampled through a well in 1982 [3]. Its recommended δ13C and δ18O values were determined in international calibrations [4,5].
Analyte | Value | Unit | SD | R/I/C |
---|---|---|---|---|
δ13C | -3.72 | ‰VPDB | 0.04 | C |
δ18O | -8.43 | ‰VPDB | 0.22 | R |
(SD) Combined standard uncertainty
(R/I/C) Classification assigned to the property value for analyte (Recommended/Information/Certified)
