USGS32 is a dried salt of potassium nitrate, KNO3 which was prepared in 1992 by J. K. Böhlke, U.S. Geological Survey [1] from Baker potassium nitrate (3190-01, lot #D40117 and 3190-05, lot #19162) and Cambridge Isotopes potassium nitrate (5% 15N, lot #F 2685). This salt material was prepared by dissolving and re-crystallizing a mixture of normal reagent salt and 15N enriched salts. Its δ15N value is determined using data from an interlaboratory comparison [2].
