IAEA-600 was prepared by W. Brand and R. Werner, Max-Planck-Institute for Biogeochemistry, Jena, Germany, from commercially produced pure caffeine. Its recommended δ¹³C value was determined in an international calibration [1]. For this reference material the δ¹⁵N value war determined in one laboratory only and therefore is only an information value.
